There are many limitations for using this intuitive method during the process to teach mandarin, such as when the teacher introduces the word “all of a sudden”, if shown by the gestures of the teacher, then students would misunderstand it as quickly,besides, as with students at their low level of mandarin knowledge, it can add students vocabulary learning ability through all kinds of reading passage with games, and we also include it as one of demonstration method, there are many kinds of games methods used in mandarin class, for example,writing mandarin in the air, playing roles in reading passage and so on.
All in all, phrases that could be explained through intuitive method are limited, many phrases like heart, feeling, freedom, pursuit,assumption and so on, they have abstract meanings, and hard to be expressed with pictures,actions, or concrete things, then i would like to introduce ways to explain such phrases, intuitive methods is fit to be applied explanation of phrases that are common used in life, and close to students’ life, and it is insufficient in the facts that many conditions that we cannot carry the concrete things into the classroom, and hard to describe its outer characteristics with pictures, like the frost.
Therefore, in order to make students understand the phrases better, in the process to teach mandarin, we can make use of two ways, demonstration methods is fit for applying in the teaching of low level vocabulary teaching, when the overseas students have a certain basis of mandarin knowledge, then we cannot use this methods any longer.
