The Longxing Chinese Medicinal Farmers' Cooperative in Fuli Village, Chabu Town, was founded in May 2017 by Wanwen Wang and a team of five. With a total investment (投资 tóuzī) of five million yuan, the cooperative covers an area of 2.7 acres and has 350 square meters of workshops (车间 chējiān).
The main business scope of the cooperative, which now has 179 primarily impoverished members, includes the cultivation(种植 zhòngzhí) of Chinese herbal medicine (中药材 zhōngyào cái), the purchasing and selling (买卖 mǎimài) of herbs, and rough processing (加工 jiāgōng).
Sales (销售 xiāoshòu) of its Chinese herbal medicines are undertaken through a combination (结合 jiéhé) of traditional and e-commerce channels, and its annual turnover (成交量 chéngjiāo liàng) in 2019 reached more than eight million yuan.
With an emphasis on developing industries for poverty alleviation(脱贫) through technical guidance, the cooperative attempts to help those in need maintain their everyday lives.
In December 2019, the Longxing Chinese Medicinal Farmers' Cooperative was rated as a successful demonstration of a provincial-level farmers' professional cooperative in Gansu Province.
