Pedicabs have gained popularity in Beijing along with the surge in tourism, they are run by private operators but collectively managed. They can be found and hailed at train stations or other transport hubs and tourist attractions around the city. If you see them on the street they are also available for hire. Their slightly higher cost is compensated for by the convenience in seeing the sights at a slower pace. Registered pedicabs should have licenses on the handle and the operator should be wearing a service badge.
