A bus driver was seen steering the wheel with his feet while using his hands to make a phone call. The incredible scene was snapped by another driver on the highway yesterday morning, traffic police said.
"I have never seen anyone using his feet to drive a bus," said an officer surnamed Xie.
The man who snapped the photo said he was sitting in a friend's car when he saw a bus going zigzag on the Hangzhou-Ningbo Highway. They caught up from behind and found the bus driver's talking and laughing over a phone while steering the wheel with his feet, said the man, surnamed Bai.
Noticing that he was being photographed, the bus driver made a threatening move toward their car, Bai's friend stepped on the gas to get away from the bus which had some passengers on board.
Police said the bus belongs to a travel company. They will fine the bus driver 200 yuan (US$32.63) for reckless driving and deduct two points from his driving license. A driver has 12 points for deduction per year.
