Talking about the weather is popular in any language, including Mandarin Chinese. The Mandarin word for “weather” is tiānqì, two characters which translate as “sky weather”.
The two characters in tiānqì are 天氣. The first character, tiān, means “day,” “sky,” or “heaven,” and the second character, qì, means “air,” “breath,” or “weather.”
