A recent video that uses cartoon figures of previous and current Chinese leaders and shows how they transitioned from local officials at the grassroots level to top political leaders has become popular on the internet.
 
The five-minute video is applauded by netizens for its user-friendly style, nandu.com reports.
 
The video, named "How A Political Leader Was Tempered" introduces different political leader selection system of China, the US and the UK and concludes that a system is reasonable as long as it can promote economic and social development and is supported by the common people.
 
Cartoon figures of Xi Jinping and six other top current political leaders, as well as late chairman Mao Zedong, late leader Deng Xiaoping and former President Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao appear in the video.

Take current Chinese President Xi Jinping for example, he spent more than 40 years being promoted from a community-level official to the top leader of several provinces and municipalities and finally to the position of President. He has comprehensively understood the actual conditions of the country before being elected as the President.
 
Only two days after its appearance, the video has received more than one million clicks and been cited by some official websites.
 
The identity of the video's author remains unknown.
