黄土高原位于中国中部偏北，内蒙古高原以南，是中国的第三大高原。黄土高原是世界最大的黄土沉积区。跨山西省、陕西省、甘肃省、青海省、宁夏回族自治区及河南省等省区，面积约40万平方千米。黄土高原表面有许多沟谷。
