LangYao Ming: Pride of China 姚明：中国的骄傲

姚明，1980年9月12日生于上海，是中国篮球的标志和骄傲，现役中国国家篮球队队员，曾效力于上海大鲨鱼篮球俱乐部，现效力NBA的休斯顿火箭队，2009年，姚明成为上海东方篮球俱乐部老板。
Yao Ming was born in Shanghai on September 12, 1980, and is the symbol and pride of China’s basketball circle. He is now a member of China national basketball team. He used to play for Shanghai Sharks and now is a player in Houston Rockets. In 2009, he became the boss of Shanghai Oriental Basketball Club.
姚明的影响力早就超出了中国大陆，现在中国香港、中国澳门、中国台湾恐怕没有当地的体育电视不播火箭队的比赛，没有不喜欢看姚明的比赛的华人，可见整个中国都在为姚明的巨大成功而自豪。但姚明的影响力远远不止中国范围，整个亚洲，日本、韩国、南亚、东南亚的华人也都是姚明的球迷，甚至就是非华人也有很多的姚明的球迷。当然在美国，在休斯敦，姚明也有极多的球迷，这就是姚明能够连续蝉联全明星赛首发中锋的原因。据此推测，姚明在全世界的球迷应该15亿以上。他用自己的实际行动向美国公众证明了中国人的诸多优点：友好、善良、谦虚、礼貌……
Yao Ming’s influence has gone far beyond the Chinese mainland. In Hong Kong, Macao and China Taiwan, nearly all the local TV broadcast the games of Houston Rockets and almost all the Chinese people like watching Yao Ming play. The whole China is proud for Yao Ming’s great success. But Yao Ming’s influence has expanded to other countries. Many Chinese people in Asia, especially in Japan, Republic of Korea, South Asia and Southeast Asia are fans of Yao Ming. Many non-Chinese people are also his fans. Of course, in the United States and in Houston, Yao Ming also has a lot of fans. This is also why Yao Ming can be in the starting line up as a center forward in all-star games in succession for years. Inferring from this, Yao Ming should have more than 1.5 billion fans worldwide. Yao Ming is not only the pride of the Chinese in the United States, but also the icon of the basketball fans of other ethnic groups, as well as the hero and symbolic figure of Houston, the fourth largest city of the United States. Many U.S. people like Yao Ming and they thus get interested in Chinese language and Chinese culture; they like eating Chinese food. With his efforts and strong mind, Yao Ming won honor for the Chinese people in the United States across the Pacific Ocean. His personally influences have gone beyond the borders. More importantly, he spreads Chinese culture to every corner of the globe.
