诸葛亮(181年7月23日-234年8月28日),字孔明,号卧龙(也作伏龙),汉族,琅琊阳都(今山东临沂市沂南县)人,蜀汉丞相,三国时期杰出的政治家、战略家、发明家、军事家。在世时被封为武乡侯,谥曰忠武侯。代表作有《前出师表》、《后出师表》、《诫子书》等。发明木牛流马、孔明灯等。诸葛亮在后世受到很大的尊崇,成都有武侯祠,大诗人杜甫也有赞扬诸葛亮的《蜀相》名篇传世。
Zhuge Liang (23 July 181 - 28 August 234), Han nationality, and native of Yangdu, Langya (now Yinan county, Linyi city, Shandong province), was the chancellor of the State of Shu Han, a prominent statesman, strategist, inventor and militarist during the Three Kingdoms Period. His courtesy name was Kongming and his pseudonym was Wolong (also being known as Fulong). He was titled the Marquis of Wu and was posthumously titled the Marquis of Zhongwu. He wrote articles including the Chu Shi Biao (The main topics addressed by Chu Shi Biao included the reasons for the Wei expedition, as well as advice to Liu Shan on governing the kingdom), the Latter Chu Shi Biao and Jie Zi Shu (The letter to expostulate his son), and invented "wooden ox and flowing horse (sometimes identified with the wheelbarrow)" and the Kongming lantern. Among later generations, he has enjoyed high prestige, which can be seen in the Temple of Marquis Wu in Chengdu and Shu Xiang (Premier of Shu), an article written by the great poet Du Fu in praise of Zhuge Liang’s outstanding work.
