In Taipei, Taiwan, this is the case and 496 groups attended a tryout to get a license to perform(表演) on the street(街道).
在台北是这样的。为了获得街头表演的执照，有496个参赛组参加了会考。

Ages of participants ranged(在……范围) from 16 - 83 years old, and some are trying to get the coveted license to make street performing for money their full-time job, and some just as a side gig. However since 2005, Taipei has issued(颁发) only about 1,400 licenses total(总计).
参赛选手的年龄范围在16岁到83岁间，有些人参赛是为了拿到执照，靠街头表演全职挣钱，有些人只是把它作为副业。然而从2005年至今，台北总计只颁发了1400份执照。
