雪梅：香蕉怎么卖？

商贩：10块钱3斤。

雪梅：这么贵，10块多钱一斤。

商贩：哪儿啊，是3斤10块钱。

表姐：就是3块多一斤。

雪梅：噢，这种说法还挺有意思的，买点儿香蕉吧。

表姐：与其买香蕉，不如买苹果，香蕉不太新鲜，吃不完，就坏了。

雪梅：这苹果是不错，挺水灵的，甜不甜？

商贩：又甜又脆，这是富士苹果。

表姐：（拿起/指着另一种苹果）那这种苹果呢？

商贩：这种是面的，不脆，不过也好吃着呢。

表姐：那我们买几个富士苹果吧。

商贩：五块钱两斤

表姐：这么贵啊！

商贩：一分钱一分货嘛。

雪梅：咱们挑几个吧。

商贩：两斤多，再加一个吧，加一个就三斤了。

表姐：（称完苹果，指着柿子）你看，现在柿子都上市了，北京的柿子别提多甜了。我记得人豪以前很喜欢吃柿子。

雪梅：这柿子这么软，买回去立马就能吃了。

表姐：柿子怎么卖？

商贩：两块一斤。

雪梅：你这儿的柿子就这么几个？我想挑点儿。

商贩：这柿子好，早上上了三筐都卖了。你包了了，我给你便宜点儿。

表姐：我们包圆了，多少钱？

商贩：一块五一斤。

表姐：行，你给我秤秤吧。

商贩：加上苹果，一共十块5毛，得，你就给十块钱吧。再买点儿别的吧。

雪梅：不要了。
 

Translation

Xue Mei: How much are the bananas?

Vendor: 10 yuan for 3 jin.

Xue Mei: So expensive. Over 10 yuan for one jin.

Vendor: No. It’s 10 yuan for 3 jin.

Cousin: So that’s over three yuan per jin.

Xue Mei: Oh, that’s an interesting way of putting it. How about we get some bananas?

Cousin: You should buy apples rather bananas. The bananas are not that fresh. If you don’t eat them, they’ll go off.

Xue Mei: These apples are nice, pretty fresh. Are they sweet?

Vendor: Sweet and crunchy. These are Fuji apples.

Cousin: （picks up/points to another type of apple）What about these apples?

Vendor: These are soft, not crunchy. But they’re tasty too.

Cousin: Then we’ll get some Fuji apples.

Vendor: Five yuan for two jin

Cousin: So expensive！

Vendor: You get what you pay for.

Xue Mei: Let’s choose a few.

Vendor: More than two jin，add one more and make it three jin.

Cousin: （after weighing apples，points to persimmons）Look. Now persimmons are in season. Beijing’s persimmons are just the sweetest. I remember Renhao used to love persimmons.

Xue Mei: These persimmons are so soft. We can eat them right away when we go back..

Cousin: How much for the persimmons?

Vendor: Two yuan per jin.

Xue Mei: You only have these persimmons here? I’d like to choose some.

Vendor: These persimmons are nice. We had three crates in the morning and they’re all gone. If you take it all, I’ll give you a discount.

Cousin: How much is it if we take it all?

Vendor: 1.5 yuan per jin .

Cousin: Alright. Weigh it up for me.

Vendor: With the apples，that comes to a total of 10 yuan fifty. Just give me 10 yuan. How about something else?
