YJ:  And wo shi Yajie.  I can’t wait for Christmas Eve!
Cam:  Yeah, same here.   It’s a lot of fun.   We are going to learn how to say some Christmas traditions on today’s show.

Cam:  haha, very funny. It’s Santa. How do you say Santa in Chinese?
YJ: it’s 圣诞老人(sheng4 dan4 lao3 ren2)
Cam: sheng4 dan4 lao3 ren2
YJ: sheng4 dan4 is Christmas,
Cam: sheng4 dan4, yes, I remember we learned that in our first Christmas show. 
YJ: lao3 ren2 in Chinese means an old man, a senior citizen.
Cam: 老人( lao3 ren2)
YJ: 圣诞老人(sheng4 dan4 lao3 ren2)
Cam: 圣诞老人(sheng4 dan4 lao3 ren2), Santa Claus.
YJ: and chimney in Chinese is 烟囱（yan1cong1）
Cam: yan1cong1, chimney.

YJ: Cam, I know one Christmas Eve tradition is to hang up Christmas stockings
Cam: Yes, the next day, you’ll find the stockings are filled with Christmas presents. But what’s the Chinese for stockings?
YJ: it’s 圣诞袜(sheng4 dan4 wa4)
Cam: sheng4 dan4 wa4
YJ: sheng4 dan4 is Christmas.
Cam: right, sheng4 dan4
YJ: wa4 is short for wa4zi, which means stockings.
Cam: wa4
YJ: 圣诞袜(sheng4 dan4 wa4)

YJ: Usually stockings are hung by the fireplace. Fireplac is 壁炉（bi4 lu2）

YJ: bi4 means wall
Cam:  bi4
YJ: lu2 means stove
Cam: lu2

YJ: shu4 means tree.

Cam: Got. Then I’d like to know how to say “Merry Christmas” in Chinese?
YJ: it’s 圣诞快乐（sheng4 dan4 kuai4 le4）

YJ: kuai4 le4 means merry or happy
Cam: kuai4 le4
