嘴 [zuǐ]: mouth

 

八 [bā]: eight

 

舌 [shé]:  tongue (of a human being or animal)

 

Chinese Meaning:

 

qī zuǐ bā shé de yì si shì ， rén duō zuǐ zá ， shuō gè bù tíng 。

七嘴八舌的意思是，人多嘴杂，说个不停。

 

rú guǒ zài rén duō de chǎng hé ， dà jiā dōu zhēng zhe fā biǎo zì jǐ de xiáng fǎ ，

如果在人多的场合，大家都争着发表自己的想法，

 

chǎng miàn yǒu xiē cáo zá 、 hùn luàn ， jiù kě yǐ yòng zhè ge cí 。

场面有些嘈杂、混乱，就可以用这个词。

 

English Meaning:

 

七嘴八舌 [qī zuǐ bā shé]: with seven mouths and eight tongues--> all talking at once, many men, many minds.

 

E.g.

 

zài bào shè jì zhě qī zuǐ bā shé dì gāo shēng xiàng tā tí wèn shí, tā shǐ zhōng biǎo xiàn dé zhèn dìng zì ruò 。

在报社记者七嘴八舌地高声向他提问时,他始终表现得镇定自若。

He kept as cool as a cucumber as the newspaper reporters shouted questions at him at once.

 

 

yóu yú huǒ chē wán diǎn ， dà jiā qī zuǐ bā shé ， yì lùn fēn fēn 。
