Lesson 120 Revision of Position Words

M: Dàjiā hǎo. Huānyíng nǐmen shōutīng Xiànzài Xué Hànyǔ. Wǒ shì ML.

S: Wǒ shì Stuart. To warm up, everyone say, 120. Duìle. Yìbǎi èrshí.

M: Now say, today it's lesson 120. 恭喜gōngxǐ. wánquán zhèngquè. Jīntiān shì dì yì bǎi èrshí kè.

S: And now say, it's a revision lesson. Méi cuò, shì gè fùxí kè.

M: We'll practice, 练习liànxí, a few things, especially position words.

M: 不，中国历史博物馆在天安门的东边。Zhōngguó Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn zài Tiān'ānmén de dōngbiān.

 S: So what is that place on the north side of Tiān'ānmén? 天安门的北边是什么地方Tiān'ānmén de běibiān shì shénme dìfang？

M: That place is the Forbidden City. 那个地方是故宫nèi gè dìfang shì Gùgōng

S: Very good! S: Remember the word for ‘building'? Duìle! 楼LOU lóu. Now, listen out for the words for ‘history' and ‘museum'. 历史, remember, is ‘history' lìshǐ. Now say with ML, This building is the China History Museum.

M: 这栋楼是中国历史博物馆zhèdònglóu shiì Zhōngguó Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn.

S: Remember how to say ‘opposite'? Right, duìmiàn or zài duìmiàn. So, try to say, now we are opposite the China History Museum.

M: Hěn hǎo. 现在我们在中国历史博物馆的对面xiànzài wǒmen zài Zhōngguó Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn de duìmiàn.

S: To finish, say, I am sitting opposite my friend. 我坐在我朋友的对面wǒ zuǐzài wǒ péngyǒu de duìmiàn.

M: And, the room opposite mine is my friend's room. 我对面的房间是我朋友的房间wǒ duìmiàn de fángjiān shì wǒ péngyǒu de fángjiān。

S: Impossible, 不可能bù kěnéng.

M: 为什么?

S: Yīnwèi, nǐ méi yuǒ péngyǒu.
