Peach Blossom Fan(桃花扇)

Peach Blossom Fan is a film based on the synonymous ledendary play by Kong Shangren in Qing dynasty and the modern drama by Ouyang Yuqian. It is a solemn and stirring love story which happened in the late Ming dynasty. This film was released by Xi'an Film Studio in 1963 and starring by Wangdanfeng as well as Feng Zhe.

In the late Ming dynasty the society was in chaos. Hou Chaozong and a sing-girl named Li Xiangjun fell in love with each other. Hou presented a peach blosom fan as a token to Xiangjun. When they met again eight years later, Xiangjun found that Hou Chaozong had been an official of Qing dynasty. This meant Hou Chaozong betrayed his contry. Xiangjun was shocked by the fact and she torn the peach blossom fan into pieces. Their love story ended and Xuiangjun sent herself into a nunny in the end.
