黄山，在中国历史上文学艺术的鼎盛时期（公元16世纪中叶的“山水”风格）曾受到广泛的赞誉，以“震旦国中第一奇山”而闻名。今天，黄山以其壮丽的景色、生长在花岗岩石上的奇松和浮现在云海中的怪石而著称。对于从四面八方来到这个风景胜地的游客、诗人、画家和摄影家而言，黄山具有永恒的魅力。
Renowned as “the first mountain across the country”, the Yellow Mountain had received abundant compliments during the peak of literature and art in the history of China (mountain and water style in the Mid-sixteenth Century). Today, it is noted for the grandeur of scenery, the rare pines growing on the granite rocks and the grotesque stones lurking in the sea of clouds. To tourists, poets, artists and photographers coming here from all corners of the world, the Yellow Mountain has an ever-lasting appeal.
黄山位于中国东部安徽省南部，南北约40公里、东西宽约30公里，面积约1200平方公里，其中精华部分为154平方公里，号称“五百里黄山”。
Located in the south of Anhui Province in the east of China, it is 40km long from north to south and 30km wide from east to west, with a total area of about 1,200km2. The mountain proper is about 154km2, called “The 500-li Yellow Mountain”.
黄山处于亚热带季风气候区内，由于山高谷深，气候呈垂直变化。同时由于北坡和南坡受阳光的辐射差大，局部地形对其气候起主导作用，形成云雾多、湿度大、降水多的气候特点。主峰莲花峰，海拔1864.8米。山中的温泉、云谷、松谷、北海、玉屏、钓桥六大景区，风光旖旎，美不胜收。
Located in the zone of subtropical monsoon climate, the temperature drops sharply due to great height of the mountain and immense depth of the valleys. Meanwhile, due to the vast difference between sunshine on the north side and south side, the local terrain has a stake in the climate, which is foggy, wet and rainy. The main peak, Lotus Cluster, is 1,864.8m above the sea level. The six parts of the scenic spot- Hot Spring, Cloud Valley, Pine Valley, North Sea, Jade Screen and Fishing Bridge are all views of superb appeal beyond description.
黄山原称“黟山”，因传说中华民族的始祖轩辕黄帝曾在此修炼升仙。唐天宝六年（公元747年）六月十六日改现名，这一天还被唐玄宗钦定为黄山的生日。黄山以其奇伟俏丽、灵秀多姿著称于世。这里还是一座资源丰富、生态完整、具有重要科学和生态环境价值的国家级风景名胜区和疗养避暑胜地，自然景观与人文景观俱佳。
The Yellow Mountain was originally known as Yi Mountain, for allegedly the ancestral emperor of Chinese nation Xuanyuan was immortalized here. It was changed into the present name on June 16th in the sixth year during the reign of Tianbao in Tang Dynasty (747 AD) and this day was nominated by Emperor Xuanzong in Tang Dynasty as birthday of the mountain. The Yellow Mountain is renowned for its unique appeal, grandiosity and gracefulness worldwide. It is also a state-level scenic spot and rehabilitation resort that boasts abundance of resources, complete range of ecology, and important value for researches and as ecological environment, excellent in both natural landscape and humanistic atmosphere.
黄山集中国各大名山的美景于一身，尤其以奇松、怪石、云海、温泉“四绝”著称，是大自然造化中的奇迹，历来享有“五岳归来不看山，黄山归来不看岳”的美誉。
The Yellow Mountain has all the merits of other famous mountains in China, especially noteworthy for the four rarities – exotic pines, grotesque stones, sea of clouds and hot springs, all symbolizing the wonders of nature. As the saying goes, there is no mountain to visit when coming back from the five big mountains, yet returning from the Yellow Mountain, one shall never go to visit the five mountains.
