守株待兔

yìtiān，sònɡɡuó yǒu ɡe nónɡfū zài ɡēnɡdì。
一天，宋国有个农夫在耕地。

hūrán，tā kànjiàn yìzhī tùzi fēisìde pǎo ɡuòlái，yìtóu pènɡzài shùɡàn shànɡ，
忽然，他看见一只兔子飞似地跑过来，一头碰在树干上，

zhéduànle bózi，dānɡchǎnɡ yànleqì。
折断了脖子，当场咽了气。

nónɡfū méifèi lìqì báijiǎn le yìzhī tùzi，xīnlǐ fēichánɡ ɡāoxìnɡ。
农夫没费力气白捡了一只兔子，心里非常高兴。

cónɡcǐ，tā búzài zhǒnɡdìle，zhěnɡtiān shǒuzhe zhèkē dàshù，
从此，他不再种地了，整天守着这棵大树，

yǎnbābāde pànzhe zàijiǎn yìzhī zhèyɑnɡde tùzi。
眼巴巴地盼着再捡一只这样的兔子。

zhěnɡzhěnɡyìnián ɡuòqùle，nónɡfū shénme yě méi děnɡzháo。
整整一年过去了，农夫什么也没等着。

huítóu kànkɑn dìlǐ，què zhǎnɡmǎnleyěcǎo，yípiànhuānɡwú。
回头看看地里，却长满了野草，一片荒芜。

Stump Watching

One day, a farmer of the kingdom of Sung was ploughing the field. Suddenly,he saw a rabbit dash into a tree trunk.The rabbit broke its neck and died instantly.The farmer was very glad that he got a rabbit without effort.From that day,he left his ploughing and kepting by the big tree all day long in hopes of getting another rabbit this way.But a whole year passed and he got none.looking back,he saw the field lie waste,over run with weeds.
