亚洲文明巡游和美食节活动将在京举行 Beijing to host Asian cultural parade, food festival

 The Asian cultural parade and Asian food festival will be held in Beijing from May 16 to 22 as supporting activities(活动 huódòng) of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC), the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism said Sunday.

 

The Asian cultural parade(巡游 xúnyóu) is scheduled to run(运行 yùnxíng) twice, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day in the Olympic Park. Costumed performers from 16 countries and 28 domestic performance teams will present festive songs(歌曲 gēqǔ) and dances(舞蹈 wǔdǎo) to showcase the distinctive charm of Asian civilizations(文明 wénmíng).

The Asian food festival will promote Asian food(食物 shíwù) not only in the Olympic Park but also in six major business areas(商区 shāng qū) in Beijing.

The CDAC runs in Beijing from May 15 to 22, focusing on cultural diversity(差异 chāyì), exchanges(交流 jiāoliú) and mutual learning(学习 xuéxí). It is expected to gather more than 2,000 government officials(官员 guānyuán) and representatives(代表 dàibiǎo) of various circles from 47 Asian countries and other countries outside the region.
