　　到达了河北的秦皇岛市

　　to Qinghuangdao, Hebei Province.

　　我们一边在北戴河

　　While we were filming at Beidaihe,

　　南戴河和昌黎进行拍摄

　　Nandaihe and Changli,

　　一边细细品味着

　　we also had a chance to get a feel

　　北方避暑胜地的独特魅力

　　for the charm of these summer

　　resorts in North China.

　　秦皇岛也许是全国惟一一座

　　Qinhuangdao is the only Chinese city

　　以古代帝王的名字命名的城市

　　that was named after an

　　ancient emperor.

　　这里有名震天下的山海关

　　The tourist attractions here include

　　the famed Shanhaiguan Pass,

　　长城东端的入海口老龙头

　　Laolongtou, the eastern end of the

　　For visitors to Beidaihe,

　　鸽子窝的日出是不能不看的

　　the sunrise at Geziwo is a

　　must-see sight.

　　我们特意起了一个大早

　　We got up especially early

　　that morning

　　在海边耐心等待

　　and waited patiently on the seaside.

　　当看着红日慢慢升上天空

　　When we saw the golden sun

　　rising slowly over the sky,

　　似乎呼吸都随之变得紧张起来

　　we strained ourselves and

　　held our breath.

　　而在南戴河的娱乐中心

　　At the Nandaihe Amusement Center,

　　六百亩荷花使人心醉神迷

　　we were fascinated by 100 acres

　　of lotus flowers.

　　仿佛置身江南水乡

　　We felt as if we were in a water

　　town in South China.

　　各色游乐设施琳琅满目

　　There are a good variety of

　　amusement facilities,

　　让人玩得开心至极

　　allowing people to enjoy themselves

　　to their hearts' content.

　　要说这周 我的收获是最大的

　　This week has been a most

　　rewarding experience for me.

　　韩佳在战国风情园

　　Han Jia at the Warring States Park

　　可是给我讲了好多战国时期的历史

　　told us a lot about the history

　　of the Warring States Period

　　那时候的成语典故什么的

　　and many idioms originating

　　更是讲了一大堆

　　from that period?

　　我虽然不能完全记住吧

　　Although I can't remember

　　all of them,

　　可是能说出几个

　　I can still say a few.

　　要不我给您讲一个

　　Or I better tell you one.

　　战国时期

　　During the Warring States Period,

　　赵国国王有两位非常能干的大臣

　　the King of Zhao has two

　　competent ministers.

　　一位是文臣蔺相如

　　One is Lin Xiangru, a civil minister,

　　另一位是老将军廉颇

　　and the other is Lian Po,

　　a senior general.

　　国王经常和蔺相如谈论天下大事

　　The king often discusses state

　　affairs with Lin Xiangru

　　商量对策

　　to make important decisions.

　　廉颇因此很不服气

　　So Lian Po isn't happy about it,

　　总想找机会报复蔺相如

　　always looking for opportunities

　　to take challenge Lin Xiangru.

　　这一天 廉颇的马车在街上

　　One day, Lian Po in his

　　carriage meets

　　与蔺相如的马车相遇

　　Lin Xiangru also in a carriage

　　on the street.

　　车夫 把马车停在巷边

　　Driver, pull the carriage by

　　the roadside

　　给老将军让路

　　to give way to the general!

　　蔺相如的胆子太小了

　　Lin Xiangru is so timid.

　　我只是看了他几眼

　　I just stared at him for a few seconds

　　他就吓得躲到一边去了

　　手下人非常不理解蔺相如的行为

　　就是因为赵国有廉将军和我

　　那么就会给敌人可乘之机

　　蔺相如的话被传到了廉颇那里

　　其实 我在那里待了几天之后

　　I found this activity

　　不仅能让英国的学生了解中国文化

　　not only helps British students

　　understand Chinese culture,

　　而且也能让中国的学生了解外国文化

　　but also helps Chinese students

　　understand foreign culture.

　　in Xiamen, Shanghai,

　　In addition to classroom lectures,

　　他们还会参加很多的文化活动

　　they also take part in many

　　cultural activities.

　　比如说他们上了太极课

　　For instance, they learned

　　taiji boxing,

　　学习了中国的书法

　　they learned Chinese calligraphy,

　　还去了一些名胜古迹参观

　　and visited some places of

　　historical interest,

　　包括去长城

　　which include the Great Wall.

　　主要是能够使他们有一个机会

　　mainly to give them a chance
