Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot 九寨沟风景名胜区

九寨沟风景名胜区位于中国西部四川省阿坝县藏族羌族自治州南坪县。因为九个藏族村寨坐落在这片高山湖泊群中，因而被称为“九寨沟”。全区面积约720平方公里，大部分为森林所覆盖。

The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot is located in Nanping County, Tibet and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Aba County, Sichuan Province in the west of China. As nine Tibetan villages nestle among the area of mountains and lakes, this region is referred to as Jiuzhaigou. It covers an area of 720 square kilometers, most parts being heavily wooded.

九寨沟地处岷山山脉南段尕尔纳峰北麓，是长江水系嘉陵江源头的一条支沟，也是青藏高原向四川盆地过渡的地带，地质结构复杂。这里高差悬殊、气候多样、山明水秀。

Located in the north of Gaerna Peak of the southern part of Min Mountain range, Jiuzhaigou is a branch of the source of Jialing River of the Changjiang River. It is also a transition area of Tibetan Plateau to Sichuan Basin featuring complicated geological structure. Here different heights stand in sharp contrast, the weather is varied and the mountains green and waters clear.

九寨沟主沟呈“Y”字形，总长50余公里。沟中分布有多处湖泊、瀑布群和钙华滩流等。水是九寨沟景观的主角。碧绿晶莹的溪水好似项链般穿插于森林与浅滩之间。色彩斑斓的湖泊和气势宏伟的瀑布令人目不暇接。

The main valley of Jiuzhaigou is in the shape of capital letter “Y”, about 50km long. In the valley, there are several lakes, waterfalls, and calcareous water flow. Water is the main scene of the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot. The dark green and glowing brook water seems as if a necklace embedded between the forest and shallow beach. The glowing ripples in lakes and the overwhelming cataract make up an impressive and exciting feast for the eyes.

原始森林覆盖了九寨沟一半以上的面积。林中植物种类繁多，现有天然森林近3万公顷，植物2000余种。多种野生动物繁衍栖息于此，其中包括脊椎动物170种、鸟类141种，属国家保护的有17种。林地上积满厚厚的苔藓，散落着鸟兽的羽毛，充满原始森林的风貌，使人仿佛置身于美妙的世外天地。

The primitive forests cover over half of the total area of Jiuzhaigou. There is a variety of plants in the forests and the natural forests spread as far as 30,000 hectares, including 2,000 kinds of vegetation. Wild life of various species inhabits and multiplies here, including 170 kinds of vertebrata and 141 kinds of birds, 17 of which are under state preservation. The land of forest is covered with a thick carpet of moss and lichen with hairs of animals and feathers of birds dotted here and there, which combine to give the visitors a sense of being landed in a magic world of excitement.
