11th Chinese Bridge Competition opens in C China

To encourage young people from across the world to study Chinese and strengthen their understanding of Chinese language and culture, the 11th Chinese Bridge opened Monday evening in Central China's Hunan province.
为了世界上的年轻人加强对中文的学习以及对中国文化的了解，星期一晚上第十一届汉语桥中文比赛在湖南省会长沙盛大开幕。
With the theme of "My Chinese Dream", 117 top college students from 70 countries will showcase their Chinese language capacities, knowledge of Chinese culture and talents during the competition that will run for over 20 days in Changsha, provincial capital of Hunan.
来自70个国家的117名选手与往届选手、中外艺术家汇聚湖南省会长沙,为众位观众献上了一场精彩纷呈的文艺演出.
The opening show "Welcome to the Chinese Bridge" and the classic and distinctive cross talk "Foreign Five Sense Organs Argue for Champion" won full warm applause.With exquisite melody, the short song and dance show "Sorry, my Chinese is poor" drew the 117 contestants together, and each sentence of the show tells their love for Chinese. The ceremony reached the climax with Yang Yuying and Wu Mengtian's song "Blooming Flowers and Full Moon" and Fei Yuqing's "Red".
文艺演出以活力四射、动感十足的《欢迎观临汉语桥》为开场秀.经典而又别具特色的声片段《洋五官争功》为现场增添了许多笑料,引发全场热烈掌声.互动歌舞秀《对不起,我的中文不好》短小、精湛的旋律带动117名选手共同演绎,句句流露出对中文的喜爱.此次开幕式上中外明星杨钰莹、吴孟天一同演绎的歌曲《月圆花好》,费玉清献唱的《红》更是将晚会现场气氛的推向了高潮.
In the next twenty-odd days' competition, there will be one special prize, five first prizes, 6 second prizes and 18 third prizes.
在接下来二十多天的比赛中,将角逐出特等奖一名,一等奖5名,二等奖6名,三等奖18名.

Chinese Bridge （汉语桥）- Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, sponsored by China's Hanban（汉办） / Confucius Institute（孔子学院） Headquarters, has been held annually since 2002.

The competition has provided a platform for foreign students in the world to exchange their experiences in learning Chinese, and it has helped students find an effective way to learn about Chinese society and culture.

Nearly 150,000 college students from across the world have participated in preliminary, semi-finals and finals competitions in various countries over the past 10 years.
