M: Huānyíng nǐ dào Xiànzài Xué Hànyǔ. Wǒ shì ML.
S: Dàjiā hǎo. Wǒ shì Stuart. Today is lesson 66.
S: ML, what shall we learn today?
M: The days of the week.
S: Hǎo zhúyì.
M: So listen carefully, and try to pick out the words for Monday, Tuesday, etc. Stuart, what day is it today?
S: Monday. Monday, xīngqīyī. So tomorrow is, 明天是,míngtiān shìxīngqīèr.
M: Monday, xīngqīyī, Tuesday, xīngqī èr.
S: We know that yī èr is 1, 2. So I bet you can now say all the days of the week. Try it with ML, starting from Monday, xīngqī yī. Zhǔnbei, kāishǐ.
M: xīngqī yī, xīngqīèr, xīngqī sān, xīngqīsì, xīngqīwǔ, xīngqī liù.
S: Hey, we’ve got up to xīngqī liù, xīngqī 6, Saturday. wher’s Sunday?
M: Sunday is a bit different. We say 星期日,or 星期天,xīngqīrì, xīngqī tiān, yíyàng.
S: Now let’s look at the new words. Can you guess what xīngqī means? Dui le, a xīngqī is a ‘week’. One week is 一个星期, say it, yī gè xīngqī.
M: Now try to say ‘two weeks’. Dui le.
S: Remember Sunday? Right. xīngqī rì or xīngqītiān.
M: 日RI rì, th tone, rì, and 天 TIAN tiān, 1st tone, tiān, both mean ‘day’.
S: Good. Now to use these new words. Follow and repeat.
wǒ xīngqīyī láide Běijīng.
M: What day did he come? Duìle, Monday, xīngqī yī. Tāxīngqīyī láide Běijīng.
S: Now, you guys at home, answer ML’s question, and tell her you arrived in Guangzhou on Saturday.
S: And you replied, wǒ xīngqīliù láide Guangzhou.
M: Hén hǎo.
S: Let’s finish by combining the time and the day. ML will ask a question, and you reply ‘I arrived at 10 Wednesday morning’
S: And you replied –
wǒ xīngqīsān shàngwǔ shí diǎn láide Shànghǎi.
S: Ok, we’ve learnt how to say the days of the week, but if we want to say  days, five days or whatever, we always use tiān, and we don’t use a classifier. Two days is simply 两天 liǎng tiān, and  4 days is? Duìle. Sì tiān, sì tiān.
M: So what is ‘6 days’? Dui le. 六天 liù tiān. And 9 days? Dui le. 九天 jiǔ tiān.
S: Now it’s time to xiàkè. Zàijiàn!
