New "24 Filial Exemplars"

Filial piety is one of the most important and fundamental virtues that has been governing the Chinese society for thousands of years.
孝顺是最重要最根本的美德之一，在中国已经传承了数千年。

 

Highlighting this concept, The 24 Filial Exemplars(《二十四孝》) is a classic text(经典之作) written by Guo Jujing(郭居敬) during the Yuan dynasty(元代). It has remained popular to this day.

As an increasing number of elderly people in China are living without a caretaker, the authority has recently issued a new “24 filial exemplars.”

Compared with the original version, the new one is believed to be more up-to-date and practical(实用). It includes such examples as teaching your parents how to use WeChat and Weibo(教父母如何使用微信和微博), giving your parents fashionable sunglasses(给父母买时尚的太阳镜), inviting your parents to Karaoke(邀请父母一起唱卡拉OK), and throwing your parents a birthday party(给父母开生日派对).
