Chinese sci-fi book “The Three-Body Problem” has won the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Novel.
中国科幻小说《三体》获得2015年雨果奖最佳故事奖。
The author(作者) Liu Cixin(刘慈欣) became the first Asian writer to win the Hugo Award(雨果奖), the highest honor for science fiction works(科幻小说) along with the Nebula Award(星云奖). Liu Yukun(刘宇昆), the book’s translator, accepted the award on the author’s behalf(代表作者).
The novel series, consisting of “Three Body”(三体), “The Dark Forest”(黑暗森林) and “Death’s End”(死神永生), portray the clashes between earth and extraterrestrial civilization.
The books were published(出版) between 2006 and 2010, and Liu Cixin has since become one of the most well-known writers in China.
Upon hearing the good news, Liu Cixin said he was “very happy” to win the prize but “will treat the award with a humble attitude and would not get overwhelmed.”(“《三体》获奖我很高兴!但是我内心是平静的,要怀着平常心看待这次获奖的事情。”)

The Three-Body Problem
The Three-Body Problem is a science fiction novel by the Chinese writer Liu Cixin. It is the first of a trilogy titled Remembrance of Earth’s Past, but Chinese readers generally refer to the series by the title of the first novel. The title refers to the three-body problem in orbital mechanics.
The book was published in 2008 and became one of the most popular science fiction novels in China. It received the Chinese Science Fiction Galaxy Award in 2006. A film adaptation of the same name is scheduled for release in July 2016.
