空竹的发展 Development of Kongzhu Art

 

Aside: Traditionally, Kongzhu is a folk game. In the north of China, people especially children like to play Kongzhu on festivals. During the spring festival, you can hear the whistles of Kongzhu everywher. Now, people play Kongzhu all year round.
旁白：原是民间游戏的空竹，在中国，特别是北方，逢年过节时候，人们特别是孩子们，都喜欢抖空竹，尤其是在春节庙会期间，到处都能够听到空竹的声音。现在的人们已经让空竹成为四季的玩具。

采访杂技专家傅起凤：空竹现在北京民间兴起一股热潮，现在北京的玩具协会下面有个空竹协会，他们有1000多人在学空竹。
Interview: Kongzhu is now very popular with Beijing citizens. Now there is a Kongzhu Association under Beijing Toys Association. It has more than 1000 members.

采访空竹协会主任李宽江：空竹的招势现在是越来越多，现在发展到几百种样式。
Interview: More and more patterns of playing Kongzhu are developed. Now there are hundreds of patterns to play it.

北京空竹发展特别快，外地也是，像是大城市，河南，上海，武汉，。。。内蒙，都跟我们有联系，走访呀，互相技艺切磋。
The art of Diabolo in Beijing is getting development quickly. So does it in other cities, such as Henan, Shanghai, Wuhan, inner-Mongolia. We often visit and learn each other.

为了把咱们国家这个空竹老的传统的玩意，继续发展下去，不能让它失传，这是咱们中国仅有的。
We should maintain and develop the traditional sport Kongzhu in our country. We cannot let it perish. It is unique treasure of China.

Aside: More and more people begin to play Kongzhu. Kongzhu is known by more and more people. In the eyes of foreigners, Kongzhu become another basic Chinese element besides Kongfu, Shaolin Temple and Taiji.
旁白：随着越来越多的人玩空竹，空竹也自然就被越来越多的人所了解，在外国人眼里，对中国的印象除了“中国功夫”、“少林寺”、“太极”、这些已经深入人心的中国元素外，又多了个“中国空竹”。

采访杂技演员王玉：空竹表演在外国一直是受欢迎的。1996年在加拿大演出时，曾做了一个民意调查，最受欢迎的节目就是我们的空竹。
Interview: Kongzhu performance is extremely popular abroad. When we gave performance in Canada in 1996, we have done a questionnaire with the audience. They picked Kongzhu as the most popular show.

采访杂技专家傅起凤：空竹是中国特有的玩具，外国人看了非常奇怪，觉得像饼一样的圆的东西，抖起来还有声有色，外国人很感兴趣。我们中国杂技团最早教过阿尔巴尼亚，埃及来的学员。
Interview: Kongzhu is a special toy in China. Foreigners are always amazed at how Chinese can play a thing like a pancake with sounds and patterns. They are very interested in it. The acrobats of Albania and Egypt learnt at China National Acrobatic Troupe at the beginning.

采访空竹协会主任李宽江：空竹是一项体育活动，希望在2008奥运会上，不管是开幕也好，闭幕也好，不管什么场合，什么形式，让我们展示一下空竹，我们就圆了梦了。
Interview: Kongzhu is a sport. We hope that we can show our Kongzhu performance in 2008 Olympic Games no matter on which occasion, no matter in what form, no matter in the opening ceremony or the closing ceremony. Let us show our Konghzu. Then our dream will come true.
