Scenic Spots 风景名胜:

唐山在众人眼中是座催人奋进的城市。仅用了十年时间，唐山人就在废墟瓦砾上建起了一座新城。并且还获得了联合国颁发的“人居荣誉奖”。今天，就让我们真正走进这座美丽的城市，走进唐山人生活的家园。

Tangshan in the eyes of the public is an inspiring city. In only ten years' time, the people of Tangshan built a new city on the heap of rubble. The city has been awarded the United Nations Habitat Scroll of Honor. Today, let's truly walk into this beautiful city and into the homes of Tangshan residents.

 

Language Points 语言点:

量词重叠: 用来形容每一个都怎么样，没有例外的。

The repetition of a measure word can be used to express that each one is the same, without exception.

Example:

Rén rén dōu hěn kāi xīn，jiā jiā dōu hěn xìng fú。

人 人 都 很 开 心， 家 家 都 很 幸 福。

The people are all happy and families are all happy, too.

New Words 生词:

亮点 liàng diǎn

指很精彩，很引人注目的事物。

"Liangdian" is a highlight or a particularly outstanding part of something.

Example:

zhè gè gōng yuán shì Tángshān de yī dà liàng diǎn。

这个 公 园 是 唐山 的 一大 亮点。

The park is a highlight of Tangshan.

Cultural Custom 文化习俗

在中国，问别人年龄是很有讲究的。问老人的年龄，我们要说“您高寿啦”；问年龄比较小的人，一般都会说，“你多大啦”。

There is a strict rule in China when asking about ages. When we ask someone very old about his/her age, we should say "nin gaoshou la". When asking someone younger about his/her age, we normally say "ni duo da la".

Example:

Nín gāo shòu lā？ nǐ duō dà lā？

您 高 寿 啦？ 你 多 大 啦？
