shānpōshànɡ yǒuzhǐ é

山坡上有只鹅，

shānpōxià yǒutiáo hé

山坡下有条河，

é yào ɡuòhé

鹅要过河，

hé kuān

河宽，

é ɡuòbùliǎo hé

鹅过不了河。

On the hillside is a goose.
Under the hillside is a river.
The goose is trying to cross the river,
But it can not,
Because the river is so wide.
