Diving queen Guo to retire

Chinese diving queen Guo Jingjing is retiring, Xinhua reports. National diving team leader Zhou Jihong confirmed Sunday that Guo had submitted her application for retirement. Guo's retirement marked the end of an era during which she set an almost unbeatable record of four Olympic gold medals and five consecutive victories in both the individual and synchronized 3-meter springboard at the world championships.
