曹植(192-232),字子建,沛国谯(今安徽省亳州市)人。三国时期曹魏诗人、文学家,建安文学的代表人物。他是魏武帝曹操之子,魏文帝曹丕之弟,生前曾为陈王,谥号“思”,因此又称陈思王。后人因他文学上的造诣而将他与曹操、曹丕合称为“三曹”,南朝宋文学家谢灵运更有“天下才有一石,曹子建独占八斗”的评价。
Cao Zhi (192 - 232), native of Qiao, the State of Pei (now Bozhou city, Anhui province), was a poet, writer and representative of Jian'an literature during the State of Cao Wei in the Three Kingdoms Period. His courtesy name was Zijian. He was a son to Cao Cao, the Emperor Wu of Wei and a younger brother to Cao Pi, the Emperor Wen of Wei. He was the king of Chen and his posthumous name was Si, later known as the King Si of Chen. He, Cao Cao and Cao Pei were known as “the three Caos” due also to their excellence in literature, which was lauded by Xie Lingyun, a literary figure of the Southern Dynasty, as “Cao Zhi got 80 percent of the world’s talent”.
