Xuan Zang 玄奘

玄奘（602年-664年），唐朝著名的三藏法师，汉传佛教史上最伟大的译经师之一，中国佛教法相唯识宗创始人。俗姓陈，名袆，出生于河南洛阳洛州缑氏县（今河南省偃师市南境）。他是中国著名古典小说《西游记》中心人物唐僧的原型。
Xuan Zang (602-664) was the famous Tripitaka Master of the Tang Dynasty, the greatest translator of Sanskrit Buddhist texts into Chinese, and was the founder of the Vijnanavada sect of Chinese Buddhism. His family name was Chen and his given name was Hui. He was born in Goushi county, Luoyang city, Henan province (what is now in the south of Yanshi city, Henan province). He was the basis for the one of the key characters Tang Seng (monk of the Tang Dynasty) in the popular epic novel Journey to the West.
