Qi Jiguang 戚继光

戚继光（1528年11月12日－1588年1月5日）字元敬，号南塘，汉族，山东登州人。明代著名抗倭将领、军事家，与俞大猷齐名。率军之日于浙、闽、粤沿海诸地抗击来犯倭寇，历十余年，大小八十余战，终于扫平倭寇之患，被现代中国誉为民族英雄，卒谥武毅。世人称其带领的军队为"戚家军"。有多部军事著作及诗作传世，戚继光纪念馆现为福建省爱国教育基地。另有，电影电视剧《戚继光》上映。
Qi Jiguang (Nov. 12th, 1528 - Jan. 5th, 1588), courtesy named Yuanjing, with the pseudonym of Nantang, of the Han nationality, a native of Dengzhou, Shandong province, was famous as a strategist and a military general in fighting against Japanese pirates, and shared the same reputation as Yu Dayou did. He spent over ten years in fighting against Japanese pirates, and engaged in more than 80 battles in the coastal areas of Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangzhou, and finally crushed Japanese pirates. As a result, he was known as a national hero and was posthumously named as Wuyi. His army was traditionally known as the "Army of Qi". He wrote many military works and poems. Qi Jiguang Memorial became the patriotic education base in Fujian province, and a film and a TV drama program of Qi Jiguang are to be put on display.
