Li Zicheng 李自成

李自成（1606-1645），明末农民起义领袖，杰出的军事家。原名鸿基。1644年正月，建立大顺政权，年号永昌。同年3月18日，攻克北京，推翻明王朝。四月，多尔衮率八旗军与明总兵吴三桂合兵，在山海关内外击败李自成。
Li Zicheng (1606-1645), originally known as Hongji, was an outstanding strategist, as well as the leader of the Peasants' Revolt during the later period of Ming Dynasty. In the first lunar month of 1644, he established the regime of Dashun, taking Yongchang as his reigning title. On March 18th 1644, he conquered Beijing and destroyed the Ming regime. In April, under the united attack of the Baqi forces led by Aisin Gioro Dorgon and the Ming military general Wu Sangui, Li Zicheng was defeated at the Shanhai Pass.
