9. apple of discord 争端；祸根
同apple pie order意思相反的是apple of discord。这个表达来源于希腊神话，众神聚在一起欢庆海洋女神忒提斯和阿耳戈英雄珀瑠斯的婚礼。女神Discord因为未受邀请却不请自来，故意将一颗刻有“属于最美者”字样的金苹果丢到桌上，请宙斯评判。特洛伊王子帕里斯把金苹果判给了美神维纳斯，惹怒了天后朱诺和智慧女神密涅瓦，从而导致了漫长的特洛伊战争。由此，人们就用apple of discord来指“争端；祸根”。
