2009年09月21日 当地部门表示，因去年5月12号四川汶川大地震而离开四川卧龙大熊猫保护基地的60只大熊猫，2012年将全部回家。

四川省林业厅副厅长罗增斌说，四川卧龙自然保护区中国大熊猫保护和研究中心原有63只大熊猫，但是，在汶川地震中，1只大熊猫死亡，1只失踪，另有1只大熊猫患重病在送外地医院救治途中死亡，其余大熊猫大多被转移安置在四川雅安碧峰峡大熊猫基地。
罗增斌说，汶川地震还造成震区大熊猫保护管理机构12名员工死亡，57人重伤，57391公顷大熊猫栖息地损毁。
目前，卧龙大熊猫保护基地正在进行一项投资高达3.79亿元人民币的重建项目，预计将于2012年完工。

2009-09-21 A total of 60 giant pandas relocated from the Wolong base in southwest China's Sichuan Province after the earthquake on May 12 last year are expected to return their home in 2012, local authorities said.
The China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center of the Wolong nature reserve had 63 giant pandas in captivity before the May 12 quake, but one died and one was missing in the tremor. Another one died of illness on the way to hospital, said Luo Zengbin, deputy head of Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department.
The surviving pandas were moved and most were relocated to Bifengxia giant panda base in Ya'an City.
The earthquake also killed 12 panda protection workers, severely injured another 57, damaged 57,391 hectares of the pandas' habitat, he said.
The Wolong base is undergoing a 379 million yuan reconstruction program, which is expected to be completed by 2011.
