Learn a Chinese word through Wang Fei’s song – 执迷不悔 (Blinded without regrets)

Wang Fei has been one of my favorite singers. Not only because of her beautiful voice and beautiful songs, but also her independent personality and courage to be different. The song I wanna introduce today has an interesting Chinese word in it’s title and lyrics:

执迷  zhi2 mi2

This word means “to be obsessive; to persist obstinately;” It is usually used in the following two idioms:

执迷不悔 zhi2 mi2 bu4 hui3   (blinded without regrets)

执迷不悟 zhi2 mi2 bu4 wu4   (stick to one’s bad old ways)

The upper one is neutral, the lower one is negative. So be aware of the difference when you use them.
