A 3-month-old baby boy has been born with 31 fingers(手指) and toes(脚趾), 11 more than normal(正常的).

The baby named Hong Hong from Zhongping Village in Hunan Province has been diagnosed(诊断) as polydactyly, a medical term(术语) used to describe people with extra(额外的) fingers or toes. Hong Hong's mother was also born with extra fingers and toes and thus when she got pregnant, she was worried and underwent several tests(检查). However, the doctor didn't find any abnormal(异常) signs(迹象) during the pregnancy.

The parents have decided the baby will have surgery(手术) to remove(去除) all of extra figures and toes. The best time to do such surgery is within(在……之内) the first year of life.
