Song of Chile
Folk Song( Northern Dynasties )
Beneath the vault of sky, under the Yin Mountains,
Far and wide spread the extents of Chile plains.
Beneath the heaven blue, over the vast country below,
A passing wind discloses the herds amid the grasses low.
Comment:
Short and terse as it may be, the poem presents a most characteristic attractive scene of the vast, magnificent steppe where herds of cattle and sheep are grazing at the foot of the Yin Mountains. The distant mountains are silhouetted against the blue sky, with the herds and flocks revealed in the windy pastures. Reading this idyll, one feels elevated and carried away by the breath-taking beauty of the boundless grassy plains where is heard the pasture symphony of wind blowing, grass hustling, cow mooing and sheep bleating.
