大约400年前，中国明代伟大旅行家、地理学家徐霞客写下了宏篇历史巨作《徐霞客游记》，记录了其全国游历的每一个过程。近日，徐霞客及其所著《徐霞客游记》重回现代人视线，因为中国国家旅游局日前宣布，将每年的5月19号，也就是《徐霞客游记》开篇日定为中国旅游日。
公元1613年5月19号，徐霞客从浙江东部宁海县出发，一生"踯躅三十余年"，足迹遍及中国现今的十余个省份。据史料记载，徐霞客首游地点为浙江省天台山。
浙江省天台县官员林国干说，"中国旅游日"的设立不仅是因为中国旅游市场的繁荣，它同时也反映了国人对祖国历史和传统文化的尊敬和推崇。
about 400 years ago, Xu Xiake, a famous traveler and geographer in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), wrote the masterpiece "Travel Notes of Xu Xiake" to document every step of his travels around the country.
The ancient travel book and its legendary writer are now back in the public eye, as The National Tourism Administration of China (CNTA) has announced recently set the date when the writing of the book started as National Tourism Day.
Xu started his travel in Ninghai County, east China's Zhejiang Province on May 19, 1613. He travelled around China for more than 30 years and he had been to more than ten provinces in China nowadays. As recorded in the book, the first place Xu traveled to was Taintai Mountain in Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province.
Lin Guogan, an official of Tiantai County, said that the establishment of a National Tourism Day was not only due to China's booming tourist market, but also a reflection of Chinese people's respect for their history and traditional culture.
