中国“天河二号”问鼎全球最快计算机Tianhe-2 Ranked as the World's Fastest Computing System

2013年6月17日，国际超级计算机TOP500组织在德国正式发布了第四十一届世界超级计算机 500强排名，由中国国防科学技术大学研制的“天河二号”以峰值计算速度每秒5.49亿亿次，持续计算速度每秒33.86千万亿次的优异性能位居榜首。美 国能源部下属橡树岭国家实验室的“泰坦”从上次第一名降至本次第二名，其运算速度为17.59千万亿次，而“天河二号”的速度比它快近一倍。
The Tianhe-2, developed by China's National University of Defense Technology, is now the world's fastest supercomputer, international supercomputer organization TOP 500 announced in Germany on June 17, 2013. The Tianhe-2, or Galaxy-2, supercomputer is capable of continuously performing 33.86 petaflops per second, with a peak performance of 54.9 petaflops per second. It has overtaken Titan, installed at the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which now ranks second with a performance of 17.59 petaflops per second. [Photo: Xinhua]
