The excellent Chinese tennis player Li Na has stated recently in an interview with Reuters that she has left behind the glory gained at the French Open and that her next target is to gain a good score at the Wimbledon Championships. She also used the Chinese proverb "He who does not advance loses ground" to remind herself not to dwell on past success.
Li Na beat the four listed favorites at the French Open early in the month, becoming the first Asian tennis player to win the grand slam singles' championship. She chose not to return to China immediately, instead focusing on preparation for the grass-court season following a short break. As the No.3 seed as well as one of the publicly listed favorites for the Wimbledon Championships, Li Na has prepared well for the match and says, "Surely there will be some pressure, but it makes no difference to my preparation before and after winning the French Open championship. The French Open is a past event, and now I am in Wimbledon, a completely different field. I will try to focus my attention as I used to. My results on grass courts have been pleasing, and I also believe that I will be able to perform well on grass courts."
Li Na went on to the top 8 in the Wimbledon Championships last year. Her opponent for the first round this year will be the Russian Kudryavts. The Russian has beaten Sharapova before, so Li Na cannot afford to let down her guard.

The French Open Final between Li Na and Francesca Schiavone drew the attention of over 100 million Chinese people. Whether she would win the grand slam final for the third consecutive time was a big concern. Li Na is 29 years old, so there are voices of scepticism about whether she might not stay a member of the "one-time grand-slam" club. In response to the scepticism, Li Na stated that age is not going to be a burden for her. "I think Asian players are different from western ones. Western players become famous when they are younger due to their early participation in the tennis matches while Asian players attend matches at a later age, comparatively, so we need to gain more experience."
随后金花又自己送上了答案:"中国人常说不进则退(if you didn't go forward,you have gone backwards)。
Afterwards, a reporter popped a difficult problem for Li Na who once majored in jonrnalism: asking herself a question. Following a brief moment, she asked, "What is your plan now? Gaining the grand slam is a dream, which has come true already. I wonder what your next plan is." Then the excellent tennis player answered her own question, "As the Chinese proverb goes: If you do not go forward, you have gone backward. Currently I plan to do my best in each and every game. If possible, I will try to help younger Chinese players."
