Luo Guanzhong 罗贯中

罗贯中（约1330－约1400），汉族，山西太原（清徐县）人。名本，字贯中，号湖海散人。他是元末明初著名小说家、戏曲家，是中国章回小说的鼻祖。罗贯中的一生著作颇丰，主要作品有：剧本《赵太祖龙虎风云会》、《忠正孝子连环谏》、《三平章死哭蜚虎子》；小说《隋唐两朝志传》、《残唐五代史演义》、《三遂平妖传》、《粉妆楼》、代表作《三国演义》等。
Luo Guanzhong (~ 1330 - ~ 1400), Han nationality, was a native of Qingxu County, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Luo’s given name was Ben while Guanzhong was his courtesy name and his pseudonym was Huhai Sanren (Leisure Man by Lakes and Seas). Luo was a famous novelist, playwright as well as the originator of traditional Chinese zhanghui-style (chapter based) novel in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. Throughout his life, Luo wrote many works, including plays like Story of Emperor Taizu of Song Dynasty and the Heroes, Serial Admonition of an Upright and Filial Son, Sanpingzhang Weeping for Feihuzi and novels like The Chronicle of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, The End of Tang Dynasty and the Period of the Five Dynasties, Tale of Sansui Conquering Monsters, Fenzhuang Lou (Pink Building) and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which was Luo's masterpiece.
