Chen Yinque 陈寅恪

陈寅恪，江西义宁（今修水县）人，1890年7月3日生于湖南长沙，1969年10月7日卒于广州，中国现代最负盛名的历史学家、古典文学研究家、语言学家。清华百年历史上，四大哲人之一。另外三位是叶企孙、潘光旦、梅贻琦。
Chen Yinque, a native of Yining (present-day Xiushui County), Jiangxi, was born in Changsha, Hunan on July 3, 1890 and died in Guangzhou on October 7, 1969. He was the most prestigious modern Chinese historian, a scholar in the study of classical literature and also a linguist. Chen Yinque, along with Ye Qisun, Pan Guangdan and Mei Yiqi, were entitled the Four Philosophy Masters in the one hundred-year history of Tsinghua University.
