Qian Zhongshu 钱钟书

钱钟书，字哲良，字默存，号槐聚，中国现代著名作家、文学研究家。曾为《毛泽东选集》英文版翻译小组成员。晚年就职于中国社会科学院，任副院长。著有小说书《围城》，书评家夏志清先生认为是“中国近代文学中最有趣、最用心经营的小说，可能是最伟大的一部”。钱钟书在文学，国故，比较文学，文化批评等领域的成就，推崇者甚至冠以“钱学”。其夫人杨绛也是著名作家。
Qian Zhongshu, courtesy name Zheliang or Mocun, pseudonym Huaiju, was a famous modern Chinese writer and literature scholar. Qian has worked in an agency in charge of the translation of the Selected Works of Mao Zedong and served as the deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences during his later life. His novel Fortress Besieged is considered by reviewer Xia Zhiqing to be “the most interesting, the most efforts-consuming and probably the greatest novel in modern Chinese literature history”. His admirers even use ““Qianology” to refer to his achievements in the fields of literature, national cultural heritage, comparative literature, cultural criticism, etc. His wife, Yang Jiang, is also a famous writer.
