Ji Xianlin 季羡林

季羡林（1911年8月6日-2009年7月11日），字希逋，又字齐奘。中国著名文学家、语言学家、教育家和社会活动家，翻译家，散文家，精通12国语言。曾历任中国科学院哲学社会科学部委员、北京大学副校长、中国社科院南亚研究所所长。
Ji Xianlin (August 6, 1911 - July 11, 2009), courtesy name Xibu or Qizang, was a famous Chinese litterateur, linguist, educationist, social activist, translator and essayist, and was proficient in 12 languages. Ji served as a commissioner of the Department of Philosophy and Social Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice-president of Peking University, and Director of the Research Institute on South Asia, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
代表作品：《中印文化关系史论集》、《印度简史》、《佛教与中印文化交流》。
