China's Tianhe-2, the world's fastest supercomputer, has begun an upgrade, which will almost double its computing power.
When the upgrade is done at the end of August, its overall computing speed will increase from 54 to more than 100 petaflops per second.
Tianhe-2 occupied the top spot for the third time in the biannual Top 500 list of supercomputers at the end of June.
