Amazon has launched a service that gives subscribers access to its vast digital library with a fee of less than 10 dollars a month.
The Kindle Unlimited reading and listening service costs US$9.99 per month, as Reuters reports, and lets customers enjoy as much as they choose from over 600,000 digital books and thousands of audio books. Those include bestsellers such as the Harry Potter series, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the Hunger Games trilogy.
Readers can enjoy the service on Amazon's Kindle e-reader, as well as any other device with a Kindle app.
Although Kindle Unlimited is currently only available to U.S. subscribers, Amazon says it has plans to expand the service outside the U.S.
The service was launched against the backdro of a struggle between Amazon and publishers who disagree over how much Amazon should pay its suppliers for digital books.
