Small and Medium Entertrises Exchange Technology at 8th SMETC

The 8th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair (SMETC) opened on June 19 in Yiwu, east China's Zhejiang Province.

The symposium mainly focuses on the theme of "how to use technology and innovation to facilitate a process of upgrading and transformation", based on the demands of medium and small enterprises. 

In the opening ceremony, Zhu Hongren, the chief engineer of the Ministry of Information Industry, said innovation is expected to play a crucial role in the future success of small and medium enterprises, which are facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. 

Lu Yongxiang, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, delivered a speech with the theme "innovative design to lead the future of Chinese manufacturing", and discussed the relationship between innovative design and social transformations and the need to further deepen innovation. 

Li Yizhong, president of China Federation of Industrial Economics, urged small and medium-sized enterprises to strengthen their endogenetic impetus for innovation and development, and confront new challenges and difficulties. 

Both speeches emphasized the goodness that would come out of this symposium. APEC economic entities are also encouraged to fully exchange experiences of innovation and development in the light of this big platform, and promote technological exchange and innovation among small and medium enterprises in a pragmatic manner.　

During the symposium, 29 enterprises received awards as "small and medium enterprises for best practicing innovation policies in their production.
