张骞(约公元前164-前114年),汉族,字子文,汉中郡城固(今陕西省城固县)人,中国汉代卓越的探险家、旅行家与外交家,对丝绸之路的开拓有重大的贡献。开拓汉朝通往西域的南北两条通路,并从西域诸国引进了汗血马、葡萄、苜蓿、石榴、胡桃、胡麻等等。
Zhang Qian (around 164 BC-114 BC), Han nationality, courtesy named Ziwen, native of Chenggu, Hanzhong prefecture (now Chenggu county, Shaanxi province), was a prominent explorer, traveler and diplomat during the Han Dynasty. He made a significant contribution to the development of the Silk Road, opening up the Han Dynasty's southern and northern routes to Xiyu (The Western Regions, Xiyu is a historical name in China referred to most often Central Asia), and bringing in products including Hanxue horses (Ferghana horse), grapes, alfalfa, pomegranates, walnuts and flax.
