杜牧(公元803-约852年),字牧之,号樊川居士,汉族,京兆万年(今陕西西安)人,唐代诗人。杜牧人称"小杜",以别于杜甫。与李商隐并称"小李杜"。因晚年居长安南樊川别墅,故后世称"杜樊川",著有《樊川文集》。
Du Mu (803-about 852) was a poet in the Tang Dynasty with his courtesy name Muzhi and pseudonym Fanchuan Jushi, which means Householder of Fanchuan. He was of the Han nationality and was born in Wannian, Jinzhao (now Xi'an, Shaanxi province). He is also called Little Du, so as to distinguish him with Du Fu, and was also named as Little Li-Du along with Li Shangyin, another renowned late Tang poet. As he dwelt in a cottage in Fanchuan, Chang'an in his declining years, he was also known as Du Fanchuan. He wrote the Fanchuan Collected Works.
