Cao Xueqin 曹雪芹

曹雪芹，清代小说家，清代著名满族文学家。内务府正白旗出身。名沾（音zhān），字梦阮，号雪芹，他出身于一个"百年望族"的大官僚地主家庭，后因家庭的衰败而饱尝了人生的辛酸。在人生的最后阶段，他以坚韧不拔的毅力，历经十年创作了《红楼梦》并专心致志地做着修订工作，死后遗留《红楼梦》前八十回稿子。另有《废艺斋集稿》。
Cao Xueqin, named Zhan, courtesy named Mengruan, with the pseudonym Xueqin, was of the Man nationality. He was a famous novelist in the Qing Dynasty. He was born in a notable family of landlords and bureaucrats, but later as a result of the declining of his family's fortunes, he suffered various hardships in life. During his later years, with unswerving persistence, he spent ten years writing Hongloumeng (A Dream of Red Mansion) and devoted himself to its editing and proofing. After his death, 80 chapters of the manuscripts were kept. In addition, he also wrote Feiyizhai Jigao (introducing handicrafts skills in the ancient time).
